Two primary schools in Pennyburn were presented with hundreds of pounds thanks to the kindness of residents.
Both Pennyburn Primary and St Luke’s Primary schools received £676.75 each on Tuesday last week thanks to the area homeowners association after the youngsters recent return after the Summer.
Pennyburn Primary School’s education business assistant Danielle McGoogan said: “Thank you to the Home Owners Association of Pennyburn who visited Pennyburn Primary school on Tuesday, August 31 to present the children with a cheque for an amazing £676.75.
“The children, staff and families of Pennyburn along with support from Cranberry Moss will use this generous donation to continue to develop our community garden.
“We hope to be able to invite our families into school when our garden is in full bloom.
“If any parents, families or members of the local community have a keen interest in gardening and would like to support the development of our garden please contact Jade Burton, Family Learning Team by email: jadeburton@north-ayrshire.gov.uk.
