The hunt for Jamie Cannon continues as search and rescue specialists from Northern Ireland returned for the second time - just days after their first search.

Familiar with aiding the Coastguard in rescuing vulnerable and missing persons, K9 Search and Rescue NI use highly-trained ‘victim recovery’ dogs, to continue to search the ICI plant in Stevenston on Sunday and Monday for clues of the missing Saltcoats teen.

Over the last six days, a specialist team of five Search and Rescue dogs and their eight handlers lent support in the hunt for the missing 19-year-old.

And their photos show just how dangerous the former ICI plant area is to those who enter it. Abandoned buildings and dangerous artifacts are strewn around the location, meaning only dogs can go where humans can’t.

Ryan Gray, who coordinated the search mission, funded with kind donations from the Three Towns community and beyond said: “Our team is now home again from Saltcoats after returning to the area last Thursday afternoon [September 16].

“Two days were spent at home, before deploying back to Scotland to search for Jamie.

“Teaming up with our colleagues from K9 Search & Recovery Scotland, large areas were searched, including technical and complex areas, but to no avail.

“At this time, Jamie remains missing.

“K9 Search and Recovery Scotland will continue to conduct searches in the area.
