With the October school holidays approaching, a number of camps across Ayrshire are taking bookings.

A range of sports are on offer between October 11-15, as well as a performing arts camp with input from professionals.

Here are some of the camps set to run during the school break:

Badminton, football and multi-sport, North Ayrshire

 

 

KA Leisure is running a number of camps in a range of sports over the break.

A two-day badminton camp will run on Tuesday and Wednesday at Greenwood Community Sports Hub.

The sessions will be held between 10am and 1pm, with a charge of £15. The club is suitable for 8-15-year-olds, and spaces can be booked by contacting srobertson@kaleisure.com.

Week-long football camps will run at The Circuit and Largs Community Campus for children aged 5-11. To book, contact cmonk@kaleisure.com.

As well as badminton and football specific sessions, multi-sport camps will take place at Dalry and St Matthew’s Community Sport Hubs. Booking can be made by contacting sbrowning@kaleisure.com.

Both the football and multi-sport camps cost £50 for the week, with sessions running from 10am-2pm.

SWS Hockey Camps, Troon

Irvine Times:

South West Skills (SWS) Hockey Camps return to Ayrshire this October with a three-day event in Troon.

Facilitated by coaches with district and international caps, the camp aims to help young people further develop their skills, fitness and knowledge of the sport. SWS works with a maximum of 12 participants to one coach.

The sessions will be held at Marr College Playing Fields from October 11-13. Open to players from P6-S6, the camp will run from 10am-1pm each day.

Kickstart to the Stage, West Kilbride

For the kids who prefer the stage to the pitch, Kickstart Opera is hosting a week of performing arts workshops in West Kilbride.

Kickstart To The Stage offers youngsters the chance to learn from industry experts in a range of singing, dancing and drama sessions. Each participant will also receive a one-to-one singing lesson.

Running from 10am-4pm daily, the camp is suitable for 8-15-year-olds and costs £99 for the week.

Cumnock Juniors

Irvine Times:

Football sessions for a range of age groups are to run at Cumnock Juniors’ three-day camp on October 12-14.

A mini-kickers section will be held from 9am-10am, with a charge of £3 per day or £6 for three days.

The P1-P7 age group will attend from 10:30am-3:30pm each day. This section costs £30 for three days, or £12 per day.

Gymnastics

A recreational gymnastic camp is to be held in Kilmarnock from October 12-14.

The session will be hosted at Kilmarnock Acrobatic Gymnastics Club from 10am-1pm each day.

Suitable for children aged five and over, the classes will develop strength, flexibility and co-ordination through gymnastics games and activities.

Tennis

Organised by Gillian Mcilroy Tennis, camps for a range of age groups will be held at Ayr Lawn Tennis Club throughout the October week.

Lessons for kids aged 5-8 will run from 10am-11:30am for the full week, as well as sessions for 9- and 10-year-olds from 11:30am-1pm.

An older section for those aged 11 and over will take place at 2pm-3:30pm from October 12-14.

The full-week camps cost £30 for members or £45 for non-members. The three-day camp for older children has a charge of £18 for members or £27 for non-members. To book a place, contact gillianmcilroytennis@hotmail.com.
