Debris from a smash in an Irvine car park lie strewn across the road this morning, after a motorist ended up with their car crumpled up against a wall.
Two people were injured in the crash, and have been hospitalised, but thankfully their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The incident happened near the car park of Tesco Extra and Vets4Pets just off the Riverway road, around 10am this morning.
Police arrived on the scene to divert traffic away from the car park.
The circumstances which led to the smash and the condition of the driver are not yet known but Police Scotland have said: “We were called around 9.55am on Wednesday, 6 October, to a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian at the Riverway Retail Park in Irvine. The pedestrian, a man, and the car driver, a woman, have both been taken to hospital.”
We will update this article when we receive any updates.
Vets4Pets posted the folllowing on their Facebook page just after 11am warning customers the car park was shut.
