A KILWINNING teen awaits sentencing following a guilty plea after being caught with a blade.
Kai Brown, 18, appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week.
The Procurator Fiscal told the court: “Brown was stopped by police in a motor vehicle on Shavian Terrace in Kilwinning as part of a routine check.
“After carrying out a negative drug test, officers then searched the car where they saw a carrier bag containing a hunting knife with a ten-inch blade.
“The item was seized and Brown was arrested alongside Christopher McCulloch, who was also in the car.”

Christopher McCulloch, 30, appeared alongside Brown but was acquitted after his not guilty plea was accepted.
Brown, who turned 18 only three weeks before he was stopped by police, will return to court in November.
Brown’s defence lawyer, Mr Holliman, highlighted that Brown had no previous convictions and urged that this should be taken into consideration.
The sheriff, when issuing the conditions of bail to Brown, of Almswell Road, Kilwinning said that good behaviour and cooperation with social work will be a factor.
