Beith and Distinct Community Council, Kilbirnie and Glengarnock Community Council and Dalry Community Council have been working jointly to deliver the Valley Voices for Valley Money project.
Each Community Council was allocated £17,500 to distribute to various groups and organisations in their area in 2019 but this was delayed due to Covid.
It was not possible to bring applications to a public vote within a marketplace arena. To ensure transparency and fairness, each community council recruited a group of scorers from their area.
The Community Councils did not score the applications. The scorers then read and scored each area applications as follows: Beith scored Dalry applications, Dalry scored Kilbirnie applications and Kilbirnie scored Beith applications.
Beith and District Community Council as the lead Community Council in this joint project secured the funding from Scottish Government Investing in Communities Fund and North Ayrshire Council Nurture in Excellence Fund
They had a fantastic response to the fund despite being in the middle of a global pandemic.
The final event will take place on Friday, October 22 between 7-9pm Geilsland Hall, Beith, KA15 1HD.
