A man has appeared in court following a group disturbance in Dreghorn where one man was taken to hospital with a serious hand injury last Friday [October 15].
Robert Richmond, 27, has been charged with assault to severe injury and was in the dock at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday [October 18].
He faced two charges connected to carrying an offensive weapon.
Richmond, from East Ayrshire, gave no plea and was released on bail.

He will appear at court again at a later date.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a group disturbance on Dundonald Road in the Dreghorn area of Irvine around 4 pm on Friday, 15 October.
“One man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital with a serious hand injury.
“A 27-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday, 18 October.”
