A KILWINNING youth football team have been gifted new jerseys by a generous Troon hairdresser.
Kilwinning Football Academy’s 2008 squad received new home strips from Megan Hobson, who owns Troon’s “The Works” hairdressers.
Megan’s kind donation comes at a difficult time as the coronavirus pandemic has hindered any fundraising for the team.
2008’s head coach Craig Simpson said: “The donation from Megan has been extremely helpful in terms of purchasing the new home strips for the boys.
“As you can imagine the boys are growing up fast and therefore have outgrown their old strip. Therefore Megan kindly offered to pay for the boys’ new strips has been such a welcomed gift.
“With the new strips looking amazing as well as the team winning the ‘Fair Play’ award from the North Ayrshire Soccer Association (NASA) we couldn’t be more grateful to Megan.”
Megan told the Times: “It’s a local young football team the same age as my son, so I offered to try and help them.
“I went and met up with the boys and they gave me a big bunch of flowers and a wee card.”
She revealed: “I’ve gone down a few times to see them so I’ve had a few pics with them in their new jerseys.”
Well done Megan and we hope the boys are enjoying the new strips.
