A KILWINNING woman has celebrated her very special 100th birthday at the weekend.

Dorothy Lynam marked the occasion at a party held at Woodwynd Hall on Saturday, [November 13] – made extra special particularly after the difficult pandemic period being surrounded by her family and friends.

North Ayrshire Provost Ian Clarkson, who paid a visit on the day to drop off her card, thanked Dorothy for the wonderful celebrations.

Provost Clarkson said: “I was delighted to attend Dorothy’s 100th birthday.

“Having spent so much of the past year apart, it is wonderful to see families start to come together again and it was obvious how happy Dorothy’s family and friends were to unite for the big day.

“On behalf of the Depute Lieutenant of Ayrshire and Arran Erica Lockett, I would like to wish Dorothy the very best of health and thank her for allowing us to be part of the wonderful celebrations.”

Congratulations and many happy returns.
