Councillor Ellen McMaster leave Salmond's Alba party to stand as independent
A North Ayrshire councillor who left the SNP to defect to Alba has left Alex Salmond's party.
The Times understands that Ellen McMaster, a councillor for Arran and Ardrossan, is now registered as Independent as of November 9 according to election records on the North Ayrshire Council website.
McMaster joined the SNP night before the 2014 referendum and revealed she has left to join the Alba Party back in March this year.
Cllr McMaster and the Alba Party have been approached for comment.
