Kilwinning Rangers suffered yet another home loss as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Benburb at Buffs Park.

Their run began a fortnight ago when the Buffs were in West of Scotland Football League (WoSFL) Premier Division action as they faced Hurlford United in a game of Friday night football under the spotlights.

But Strain’s side could not match the Ford, as a first half double from Jack Whittaker gave the away side the three points.

After the defeat Strain says he was keen to patch up his injury hit squad with new signings. However, it was an exit at the club that grabbed the headlines with defender Tony Coutts departing for Lowland League side Broomhill.

Strain insisted the funds would be used for new transfers to bolster his weakened squad but there was no deadline day signings before their clash against Benburb at the weekend.

First half goals from Ryan Livingston and Ryan Docherty gave the Bens the win.

After the result, Kilwinning are sitting in fourth place in the table and their next match is away to

Troon.
