Kilwinning secondary school pupils had a blast earlier in the month on a day-out to Ayrshire’s Dumfries House.

Twelve girls had fun on the trip to the home, owned by Prince Charles the Duke of Rothesay, where they took part in a textile workshop to learn about sustainable fabrics.

A spokesperson from Kilwinning Academy said: “Big thank you to Dumfries House for having 12 of our fantastic S3 pupils for the textiles workshop.

“All of our pupils had a great day. We learned loads about sustainable fabrics and the impact textiles have on the environment.”

They added: “Well done to Miss Caddis and Miss Thomson for organising a brilliant trip to Dumfries House and to Mrs Randall for driving the bus.”
