A78 near Irvine
A vehicle has been struck by a 'mystery item' that was thrown from a footbridge on the A78.
The incident happened last Sunday (January 9) at 4.50pm, when a male motorist was driving along the road towards Ayr.
The undisclosed item was launched from a footbridge close to the Castlepark circle.
It is understood the driver did not sustain any injuries.
Cops in Irvine would like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage capturing the incident - or anyone with other pertinent information.
