Irvine pupils were presented with prizes for their efforts on antibiotic awareness.

Lawthorn Primary School held its Antibiotics Awareness competition late last year, with winners being presented with their prizes for European Antibiotic Awareness Day.

Youngsters were invited to take one of several pledges to help keep antimicrobials working.

These included: I will wash my hands with warm water for 20 seconds; I will cover my mouth when I sneeze or cough; I will wash fruit and vegetable before I eat them; I will always finish my course of antibiotics; or they could choose their own.

The winners were presented with a gift card for Smyths.

Well done everyone for all their efforts on the day!
