Kathryn Cree fell in love with dancing the moment she took up the sport aged five.

Now she has the chance pass on her passion to future generations as she launched Ayrshire’s newest dance school, K.C Dance, this week.

Having worked as a teacher for three years, she cannot wait to step into the game with her very own dance school.

She said: “One of the dance schools I worked for (Emma Jackson school of dance) recently shut down so I seen this as an opportunity to go for it and open my own so the kids weren’t left without a school/dance training.

"Emma pushed me to do this and helped me believe in myself.

“I started dancing at the age of five and instantly fell in love with it.

"I successfully auditioned for The Dance School of Scotland when I was 11 where I went for my six years of secondary school.

“From there I furthered my training at Bird College in London where I gained my diploma in dance and musical theatre.

"I’ve always had a passion for teaching and I’m enthusiastic about creating a place where kids can have fun whilst also gaining the best training in dance.”

She admitted it was a challenging step to take, but the reaction she has received has really encouraged her.

Kathryn commented: “I was nervous at first but when the school went live the response I got was overwhelming and I am so glad I went for it.

“I can’t believe how many kids I already have and I’m so excited for it to grow.

"Not a lot of people have the dance training I do and I’m so lucky I get to share that.

“My future plans are to build my school up and provide a wide range of dance styles to suit all the kids and all the age groups. I also want to inspire kids who have never danced to give it a go.

“I hope with my knowledge in dance I can help the kids gain life skills that will help them in and out of the studio and take them to the next stage of their training.

“I would like to thank Emma Jackson who has supported me since she shut her own dance school and believed in me from the start.

"My family who have consistently let me live my dream and did anything they could to get me there. My boyfriend Fraser who supports absolutely everything I do.

“If you have a kid who is wanting to try out dancing please message us now on our Facebook page K.C Dance.”
