A TEENAGE girl stands accused of a savage assault on her girlfriend in the Rivergate before allegedly breaching bail orders to see her again on Valentine’s Day.

The 16-year-old, who can’t be named for legal reasons, is accused of assaulting and injuring a 14-year-old in the Rivergate shopping centre on February 2.

Court papers allege she seized her by the neck and removed her from a bench she was sitting on, before pushing her whilst challenging her to fight.

She then allegedly kicked her on the body, causing her to fall and strike her on the head causing her to bend over.

The accused allegedly then repeatedly struck her on the body with her knee causing her to fall to the ground and repeatedly kicked her on the body to her injury.

The girl faces a second charge of breaching court orders not to contact the victim by contacting and communicating with her by phone between February 12 and 13 at an address in Saltcoats.

It’s alleged she again breached bail orders by contacting her again the next day and spending time in her company at the Riverway Retail Park on February 14.

Bail was granted and the case was continued without plea.
