KILWINNING Rangers have received a record transfer fee after the sale of their player David Syme.

The 24-year-old centre back had been playing at The Buffs for four years before joining fellow Ayrshire club Darvel.

A record fee of £12,000 was received by Kilwinning for the player.

A Kilwinning Rangers statement said: "The club can confirm David Syme has joined Darvel for a club record transfer fee of £12k.

"The club would like to thank David for his efforts and wish him well for the future."

He had previously played for professional teams Kilmarnock, Partick Thistle and Raith Rovers.

Kilwinning lost their first game since selling the player 3-1 to rivals Auchinleck Talbot.
