A musician from Saltcoats, has just launched his own independent record label - High Line Record Company.

Michael Crawford, a former St Matthew’s Academy pupil, is in his third year studying commercial music at the University of the West of Scotland.

He launched the record label, which specialises in acoustic and folk music, this week and aims to provide a platform for local artists to have their music heard by a wider audience.

Along with the label’s launch, they also released their debut song this week, The Spark, by Michael Crawford, featuring Jamie Clark.

The song is available on Bandcamp now, and is due to be available on streaming services soon.

Michael has become the first artist to sign with the label.

He is a passionate songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and composer.

He has experience playing in some of Ayrshire and Glasgow most renowned venues, including King Tut’s in Glasgow, The Classic Grand and Ayr Town Hall.

He says he has been influenced by artists such as Green Day and Johnny Cash and released his debut album ‘A New Dawn’ back in 2020 - which is available on Bandcamp.
