A man had to be taken to hospital after a stabbing attack in Irvine as officers continue inquiries into the serious assault.
Police confirmed inquiries are still ongoing into the 'targeted incident' at around 2am on Saturday [April 9] after a section of Clark Drive was closed off that morning.
A man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital with serious injuries while police have advised there will be an increased number of officers in the area.
Police confirmed today [Sunday, March 10] that enquiries continue into the assault - which the Times understands involved a blade.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report a man had been found seriously injured at a property on Clark Drive, Irvine, around 2am on Saturday, 9 April.
“The man was taken to University Hospital Crosshouse in a serious condition.
“This was a targeted incident and enquiries are ongoing.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area.”
