A MAN stalking a woman at Irvine’s Riverway retail park and on the A71 has been ordered to stay away from his ex.

Tommy Valentine, 20, admitted causing his former partner fear and alarm through his behaviour on various occasions between October and December at locations including the Riverway Retail Park, A71 between the Corsehill and Moorfield Roundabouts, as well as Kilmarnock.

Valentine repeatedly contacted her by phone as well as WhatsApp and sent her flowers. He also called the woman telling her he was following her and insisting she pull over and talk to him – despite her insisting that the relationship was over.

He also threatened that he would not be held responsible for what his family did if she reported his behaviour to the police. The charge states he also repeatedly drove passed her house in his work vehicle and repeatedly sent her messages and calls on Facebook.

He also attended a carpark at her work, knocked on the passenger door and entered her vehicle without permission.

Valentine, of Kilmarnock, plead guilty to the charge on March 9. He returned to court last week and was given a non harassment order for 18 months. He will also have to wear a tag for three months.
