The local wards changed dramatically recently after a review by the Boundary Commission.

Saltcoats and Stevenston became one ward, but the major changes affected Ardrossan and Arran.

At the last election Ardrossan and Arran was one ward with three serving councillors.

Two of the newly elected members lived on Arran, with some Ardrossan residents claiming the town was now under represented.

Now Ardrossan will have three councillors - and Arran gets one of its own.
