A woman in her 20s was arrested near the town centre for alleged assault and theft in Irvine.
The woman aged 23 was arrested near Mamma's chip shop after an alleged incident in Clark Drive at around 2.30pm today [Wednesday, May 11].
Police Scotland confirmed enquiries are continuing after the arrest.
A spokesperson said : “A 23-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with theft and assault which happened at Clark Drive, Irvine at around 2.30pm on Wednesday, May 11.
"Enquiries are ongoing.”
