TEN primary schools from across North Ayrshire came together last week to compete to see who could be crowned champions for the county.

The seven-a-side tournament was held at Kilwinning Sports Club and played in great spirits with the weather holding out most of the day despite some pretty threatening clouds above!

Competing in the tournament on the day was Glebe, Dalry, Caledonia, Winton, St Luke’s, Moorpark, Annick, Hayocks, Stanley and Corsehill Primary Schools.

All teams competed well but there could only be one winner, and that was Stanley Primary, who just pipped Dalry to the title, leading to some joyous celebrations from the players.

North Ayrshire active schools played a big part in organising the tournament, and a spokesperson said: “A big well done to our 10 primary football teams you all played so well at today’s NA primary football final.

“Keep playing football everyone.”

A big congratulations to all involved from the Times!
