Police are hunting a bogus workman who targeted a North Ayrshire pensioner by demanding cash for plumbing work.
The 71-year-old was at home in Blacklands Crescent in Kilwinning when the man approached their house at around 4pm on Saturday (June, 4).
The man, who claimed he was from a utility company, then gained access to the property and demanded cash for plumbing work which was not required.
But the suspect left empty handed after the householder managed to call a family member.
He made off in an unknown direction.
Police are now appealing for residents who were in the Blacklands Crescent area at the time and who may have seen suspicious activity, been a victim or have information on the male suspect to get in touch.
