Kilwinning residents enjoyed a right royal occasion last week as the town marked the Platinum Jubilee with the official crowning of the Segdoune Queen.

Pennyburn Primary pupil Willow Travers was officially crowned during the party in the Main Street last Thursday.

A Promoting Kilwinning spokesperson said: “Thank you to everyone who came Congratulations to our Segdoune Royals who were fantastic ambassadors for their town today.

“We would like to thank Tracy Finlay School Of Dance, 2nd Kilwinning boys brigade junior and company section, Caledonian Piping Club and Royal British Legion Scotland Kilwinning Branch who took part in the parade today and thank The Jamie Clark Experience and Borland Ceilidh Band.

“A big thank you to John Bennett for crowning our Segdoune Queen and to Kilwinning Community Council, Equal Supported Employment in North Ayrshire and Sunnyside Nursery as they arranged the new hanging baskets in Kilwinning Main Street.”
