A FUND-RAISING football tournament held at Kilwinning Sports Club on Sunday, June 19, has raised an amazing £2,280 for charity Heart Research UK.
The Theresa Potter Heart of Scotland cup saw eight teams compete in a group format, before players retired to the clubhouse for food, drinks and a raffle.
A spokesperson for the event said: “It was exactly what we wanted - great atmosphere and surrounded by brilliant people, thank you to everyone who played, donated, bought raffles, supported.”
The winning team was captained by a well kent face in Kilwinning - Ian Cashmore. His side won all seven of their games, just pipping ‘Team Zee’ who only dropped three points themselves.
Congratulations to all involved in the tournament from the Times!
