Irvine’s Specsavers store in the Rivergate Shopping Centre is celebrating its 30th anniversary by holding a competition with a £1,000 holiday voucher up for grabs.

Partnering with Stewart Travel for the prize, customers over the age of 18 can enter the competition by putting their name into the store’s anniversary box.

The deadline to enter is Sunday, August 28 after which the winner’s name will be picked from the box at random.

Store director, Gillian Syme, said: “We just wanted a fun way to thank our customers and to show how incredibly grateful we are to them.

"We’re hugely excited to see what the future of the store will bring and look forward to providing vital eye care and hearing care for decades to come.

“Over the past three decades, we’ve welcomed thousands of customers through the door, trained plenty of budding dispensing opticians and hearcare staff and been proud sponsors of key events in Irvine, such as the Tidelines Book Festival.

“Looking to the future, we hope to continue to develop our relationships with local people, businesses and community groups as well as continuing to support the training and development of our own team.”

Opening in 1992, thousands of eye examinations and hundreds of hearing appointments have been performed in the shop over the past three decades.
