Irvine based pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) are now accepting applications from local charities and organisations to secure their share of £10,000 of funding.

Three successful applications will be selected to be awarded a share between £2,000-£5,000 of the funds available.

Those applying must be able to demonstrate how they can positively impact the health and wellbeing of those in the Ayrshire community.

Last year, through the awards GSK were able to make a real impact to three diverse charities and organisations: Hillhouse, Break the Silence, and Aoife’s Sensory Bus - who each received £3,000 donations.

Site Director of the GSK Irvine pharmaceutical site, Colin Nivison commented: “The annual local Community Awards is an opportunity for us to recognise organisations committed to improving our local community and the lives of people who live in Ayrshire.

“It’s really humbling to see the magnificent work and commitment within the community from a wide range of organisations.

“When we assess the applications, we look at how the funding will be used and consider both the number of beneficiaries as well as the impact the organisation has on their clients’ lives.”

The deadline for applications is August 31, and those interested in applying should contact the site engagement team leader, Sharon Baillie on sharon.e.baillie@gsk.com to obtain an application form.
