A MAN allegedly made inappropriate comments to kids before being caught carrying a apair of scissors.

Thomas Pollock, 45, allegedly engaged in a conversation with a group of youngsters before uttering remarks that were grossly offensive and indecent on July 26 this year at Countess Street, Saltcoats.

He is accused of also possessing an offensive weapon, namely a pair of scissors, at Saltcoats police office on July 27.

Pollock of Burnbank Street, Stevenston, pleaded not guilty to both charges on the Crown’s complaint.

Trial was set for later in the year and Pollock was granted bail.
