Celtic FC and Irvine beach park isn't exactly a crossover you expect to see every day, but it was the case yesterday morning.

One lucky fan was thanking his girlfriend for "dragging" him to the beach yesterday, August 11, as he bumped into a popular pair.

He managed to get a snap of himself with not only with boss Ange Postecoglou, but also with highly rated Croatian international left back Josip Juranovic.

The latter has been linked to Chelsea in recent days, though perhaps it's a move to Irvine Meadow we should be looking out for!

Another explanation could, of course, be that the Australian manager was getting ready to put the players through their paces on the sand dunes, something local players will know all too well!

However, what may be more likely, is that the pair were down in Ayrshire as Celtic begin their preparations for their away match on Sunday, against Kilmarnock.

The Scottish champions are due to play at Rugby Park at 12pm, and have often been known to stay in Ayrshire before this fixture.

Celtic were often known to frequent the Seamill Hydro hotel in West Kilbride, with the team's famous Lisbon Lions side of 1967 regulars in the seaside venue.

Despite football having moved on since then, Celtic have been known to stay there more recently, before matches with Kilmarnock when they were last in the Premiership.

Perhaps on this ocassion, they have chosen a different area of the coast closer to the town to stay.

Or maybe they are just getting a feel for Irvine before the Marymass big day on Saturday, August 20.
