A MAN has been taken to hospital for treatment after an alleged serious assault by a gang of youths at Irvine beach.
Police say a disturbance took place at around 5pm on Thursday August 11, near the car park area.
The man was later released from the University Hospital Crosshouseafter he had received treatment.
Police are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident as it happened, or that may have dash cam footage of the area.
Detective Constable Lorna Kerr said: “The beach has been very busy this week and I would ask any witnesses who were in the area at the time, or anyone with information about the incident, to please get in touch.”
