Police are appealing for public assistance to help trace a missing 22-year-old from Ardrossan.

Lee Andrew Martin was last seen around 1pm on Monday, August 15 in the Thornhill area of Dumfries and Galloway.

He is described as white, 6 feet tall, of a slim build with short brown hair and was last seen wearing a blue puffa jacket.

Although Lee is from Ardrossan, officers have said he is known to visit the wider North Ayrshire area frequently.

Chief Inspector Gillian Grant of Irvine police station said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Lee’s welfare and are asking for the public's assistance to help trace him.

“Lee’s family are extremely worried about him and just want to know that he is safe and well.

“Although he is from Ardrossan and was last seen in Thornhill, Lee is also known to frequent the wider North Ayrshire area.

“If you think you may have seen him or have any information on his whereabouts, please contact us as soon as possible.”
