NORTH Ayrshire Council have now confirmed plans for the services they will provide on the day of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.

On Monday September 19, which is the day of the bank holiday, the majority of council services will be suspended for the day.

This will include bin collection services, meaning no household waste bins will be collected on Monday. The council say information on when those who are affected by this can expect their bins to be emptied will be "provided shortly".

All buildings, including schools, educational establishments, early years centres, libraries, household recycling centres and depots will also be closing for the day.

Public toilets operated by the council will, however, remain open as usual.

Following this, buildings will re-open and all services will resume on Tuesday, September 20. This includes bin collection services, for those who typically have their household waste collected on this day.

North Ayrshire Council's out-of-hours team will still be contactable on their usual number – 01294 310000 - for any emergencies.
