The owners of an Irvine convenience store will have to wait until October for their application to increase their alcohol display to be considered.

The Premier shop in Caldon Road are planning an extension which will see their alcohol display capacity  increase from 25.61 sq m to 36.41sq m.

A representative from the shop said the owner had been unable to attend the meeting.

Chair Eleanor Collier said: “I’m quite disappointed that no one is here from the business.

“It’s not good enough just to send a solicitor. It’s just not going to happen.”

Added Councillor Christina Larson: “When you are coming to a Board like this you have to come prepared and it’s disappointing no one from the shop is here and the person who is applying has not come with the information itself.”

The case was continued until the next meeting of the board on Monday, October 31.
