UPDATE: A body found near Maybole was identified as that of Colin McKerrell. our thoughts are with his friends and family at this time.
Police are appealing for assistance from the public as they try to locate a missing Irvine man.
Colin McKerrell, 58, was last seen around 10am yesterday (Monday, September 19) by his family.
It is believed that he left in his red Mercedes vehicle, with the registration number SB17 YLO.
Police say extensive enquiries have been carried out but as of yet, they have been unable to trace Colin.
He has been described as around six feet tall with a heavy build, a shaved head, and he typically wears glasses.
When he was last seen, Colin was wearing a red hoodie, grey trousers, a blue jacket and walking boots.
Inspector Claire Walker said: “Due to the circumstances, we are growing increasingly concerned for Colin.
"His family is understandably very worried and just want to know he is safe and well.
"If anyone has seen Colin or his motor vehicle or has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts, please contact us.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2858 of September 19, 2022.
