AN UP and coming pop duo with an illustrious performing history are coming to Irvine for their own headline gig.

'The Eves', consisting of Marissa Keltie and Caroline Gilmour, first joined forces in 2018 and have quickly established themselves as one of the UK’s most promising and exciting songwriting duos with their stand-out brand of uplifting, melodic pop.

The pair have a number of notable past performances, including closing the Queen Tuts stage at a sold out TRNSMT festival in 2019, opening for Belinda Carlisle in Glasgow this year and playing at the Forth Awards in Edinburgh alongside Wet Wet Wet and Tony Hadley.

Prior to their TRNSMT performance, they were also included in The Sun's list of top ten Scottish acts "you don't want to miss" performing at the festival - alongside star acts such as Lewis Capaldi, Gerry Cinnamon and The Snuts.

Though one of their next shows, and their last headline gig of the year, brings them to North Ayrshire, as they play at the Harbour Arts Centre in Irvine on November 19.

The duo are currently self-managed and have written, self-funded, co-produced and independently released nine singles since October 2018, with tracks 'Brand New Day' and 'Big Love' both making it onto BBC Radio 2 without label support.

'Brand New Day' has proved to be the bands most popular work, spending five weeks on BBC Radio 2's music playlist, being named single of the week on BBC Radio Scotland and reaching number six on the iTunes pop chart.

Now they are looking forward to being able to show the Irvine crowd exactly what they are all about.

Caroline commented: "We're really looking forward to performing at the HAC and honoured that our last headline show of 2022 will be at this beautiful creative hub near the harbour.

"A long list of well-loved Scottish artists that we admire and respect including Jill Jackson, Horse, JJ Gilmour and Colin Hay have/will be performing here so we're in very good company."

While Marissa added: "It's great to see the HAC embrace a wide variety of creative and musical styles by inviting us along to perform our brand of uplifting, melodic pop.

"North Ayrshire has long been on our list of locations to perform in, and we hope we'll have something for everyone with the set we've put together for this show".
