KILWINNING'S historic abbey is once again being lit up red as a mark of respect during remembrance events this weekend.
The ruins will remain illuminated in colour until Remembrance Sunday (November 13) - and a special event is also being held at the site tonight on Armistice Day.
As part of the Poppyscotland #LightUpRed appeal, the abbey is covered in bright lights and guided tours to the roof - offering an opportunity to see the structure in a way it’s never usually noticed - will take place this evening (Friday, November 11) from 7pm-8pm.
Free hot chocolate will also be on offer along with the free tours.
Organisers Kilwinning Heritage said: "This event is a great way to come together with the community as part of remembrance and to see the historic abbey ruins at its best."
