DRIVERS in Irvine and Kilwinning are being warned to beware of disruption due to ongoing roadworks.

Work is currently being carried out at six different locations across the two towns.

North Ayrshire Council have issued a warning that there will be disruption on the roads while these take place - though it should be noted that this work is not being carried out by the council themselves.

At present, contractors are undertaking essential health and safety works on the electrical distribution network.

The local authority have confirmed that, to their knowledge, these works and subsequent disruption caused will continued until completion in late january 2023.

There will be no road closures as the work is being carried out under temporary traffic control, with only portable traffic lights and lane closures in place.
