A BUSINESS based in the Rivergate Shopping Centre in Irvine is pleading for public support.

They say that without this, they may be forced to leave the town.

'The Wee Shire Shop' are a small crystal buisness who offer a massive range of products from their stall in the Irvine mall - situated near the top of the escalator/stairs up from the entrance on the Asda side of the centre.

The business owner says they love their current location in Irvine, but a sudden drop in interest has left them having to consider looking for new premises.

They made a social media plea earlier this week urging public support to allow them to spend another year in their current location.

They said: "We don't like doing posts like this but the shop has unexpectedly been struggling recently.

"Due to the apparent drop in interest we may be forced to look for new premises elsewhere in January.

"We've loved being in Irvine and don't want to leave so if you could show your support for the business this festive season we would really appreciate it and hopefully we can stick around for another year!"

While the business has had some other problems to deal with as of late.

The Wee Shire Shop are currently holding a big Christmas basket giveaway, which has proved popular with hundreds so far.

Though someone tried to take advantage of this popularity and scam unsuspecting people with a fake account and seemingly identical giveaway.

The business has since warned customers to be wary of the fake account which they say is messaging people asking for personal details, something they would never do.
