NHS Ayrshire and Arran have announced pharmacy and GP closure times over the Christmas and New Year period.
The health board announced that many GPs and pharmacies in the area are set to close this Christmas and New Year but that a select few pharmacies will remain open at reduced hours.
GP practices in North Ayrshire will be closed on Monday, December 26 and Tuesday, December 27 but will return to normal operating hours on Wednesday, December 28.
Additionally, the majority of pharmacists will remain closed between Saturday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 27 – but a limited number of pharmacists will remain open during this time.
On Christmas Day itself, the only pharmacies to remain open will be Boots Pharmacy in Kilwinning on 27 Almswall Road between 11am and 1pm and Boots Pharmacy in Irvive on 22/24 High Street between 1pm and 3pm.
On Boxing Day, Boots Pharmacy, 9 Lower Vennel, Irvine will remain open between 12noon and 2pm, while Davidsons Chemist, 20 Main Street, Dreghorn will open between 2pm and 4pm.
On December 27, Penman Pharmacy, 2 Eglinton Street, Beith will open between 9am and 5.30pm and Boots Pharmacy, 1 Fullarton Square, Irvine will operate between 11am and 5pm.
During the New Year period, GP practices in North Ayrshire will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday, January 2 and 3, 2023.
Most pharmacies will be closed from Sunday, January 1 to Tuesday, January 3 with only some remaining open at reduced hours.
On January 1, Boots Pharmacy, 9a Frew Terrace, Irvine will open between 11am and 3pm.
On January 2, Lawthorn Pharmacy, 1 Cardow Crescent, Irvine will be open between 2pm and 4pm and Townhead Pharmacy, Station Plaza, Pennyburn Road, Kilwinning will open from 12pm–2pm.
On January 3, Penman Pharmacy, 2 Eglinton Street, Beith will operate from 9am–5.30pm and Boots Pharmacy, 1 Fullarton Square, Irvine will be open from 11am–5pm.
