Big Dibby sets up new location at King Kone in Kilwinning

Christopher Dibbon, or 'Big Dibby', as he is better known, announced at the end of last year that he would be stepping away from his work in South Ayrshire.

He had previously been working at both The Buf in Prestwick and Skinny Malinkies in Ayr.

Prior to this, the chef, who has more than 20 years' experience, had run his own successful food van in Hurlford - Big Dibby's Kitchen.

Though in a statement shared with his social media followers on December 30, he announced he would be stepping away from his work in Ayr and Prestwick - as he looked to return to work within a takeaway venue.

He said: "Due to the rising cost of everything these days I will be down sizing back to doing a take away from a new location where I get to face to face with all my customers again, getting a laugh with you and helping you build the orders exactly the way you like it, and getting time to get back to making some of my crazy creations agains.

"I have had a great time working in Prestwick and Ayr and have met some great friends and folk even got to be YouTube famous with Randy Sandel doing my burger challenge but with times being so tough just now.

"I simply just need to downsize and get back to what I love doing most."

And after taking a week away from his work, Big Dibby has confirmed where his latest venue lies - in Kilwinning.

He will be working out of King Kone takeway at Station Plaza in the town, and officially opened today, January 9, for the first time. 

The chef is operating a completely new menu, which can be viewed on his social media page - facebook.com/dib82 - and will be offering some mouth-watering specials on a daily basis.

The news has already caused quite astir in North Ayrshire, with hundreds flocking to the social media comments when they heard Big Dibby was coming to Kilwinning.
