A TOTAL of 130 'vapes' have been seized from an Irvine store as they were not UK compliant.
The products were taken following a joint visit by police and North Ayrshire Trading Standards to a specialist store in the town.
Police state that they believe that the Nicotine Vapour Products (NVP's) have an approximate value of £650.
They say the visit was carried out following concern from local communities regarding age-verification adherence and sales of these NVP's.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Communities in Ayrshire told us they were concerned about age-verification adherence and sales of Nicotine Vapour Products (NVP's).
"Police and North Ayrshire Trading Standards conducted a joint visit to a vape store in Irvine today.
"One hundred and thirty vape units of an approximate value of £650 were seized - all of which were non-UK-compliant.
"If you have information or concern about Nicotine Vapour Products (NVP's) sales or compliance, do not hesitate to contact Police Scotland on 101 - or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
