PLANS are in store for Irvine’s old indoor market - almost a decade after it closed down.

Once a thriving market, when it officially closed for the last time in 2013 only a cafe, fruit and veg stall, card stall and a hairdressers remained.

Though now Sangha Kurunveer of Evergreen Storage Solutions has new plans for the derelict building on Bank Street.

These proposals would see the use of this facility changed from an indoor market to “self-storage facilities”.

Drawings of floor plans and a location plan have also been included in the application - though little more can be taken from these other than that the building would be entered via Bank Street and East Road.

The plans are now with North Ayrshire Council for consideration, and can be viewed in full via their online planning portal, searching for reference 23/00008/PP.
