POLICE are appealing for assistance to help trace a Kilwinning local who has not been seen since the early hours of this morning, Wednesday February 22.
Andrew Linton, 43, was last seen in the Corsehill area of the town, at around 5.35am.
It is understood that he left an address on foot, and has not been sighted since.
His disappearance is described as being out of character, and police say they are now using a number of their resources to assist in their search for Andrew.
Andrew is described as around five feet and six inches tall and of a stocky build
When he was last seen, Andrew was wearing a blue polo shirt, a light coloured beanie hat, black trousers and black boots though he may now be wearing a grey hooded jumper and be in possession of a rucksack.
Inspector Alex Beagrie from Irvine Police Station said: “Andrew speaks with a local accent and is local to the Kilwinning area.
"This behaviour is out of character for him and we have a number of police resources out looking for Andrew.
“I’d ask anyone who may have seen him, or a man matching his description, since shortly after 5.30am this morning to get in touch and report any sightings so we can investigate.”
Those with information are asked to call Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 0514 of February 22.
