Police Scotland have issued an update in the search for a missing Kilwinning man.

Officers have released a new picture of Andrew Linton as they continue with their search to trace him.

Andrew, 43, was last seen in the Corsehill area of Kilwinning at around 5.35am on Wednesday, February 22.

He is described as white, around 5ft 6in height, of stocky build and speaks with a local Ayrshire accent.

He was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt, a light-coloured beanie hat, black trousers and black boots.

It is thought he may also have on a grey hooded jumper and be carrying a large red rucksack with black lace crisscrossed on the front similar to the photo attached.

Inspector Alex Beagrie, Irvine Police Station, said: “Andrew has been missing now for two days, and for him to leave his home and family without letting them know where he is or getting in touch is not like him at all and is concerning.

“Officers have been checking CCTV from the local area and in the town centre but so far there have been no further sightings of him.

“Local bus and taxi companies have been alerted, as have our colleagues at British Transport Police. We also have officers, including specialist search teams, searching for him.

“If you have seen Andrew, or have any information about where he is, then please get in touch with police as soon as you can.”
