TWO suspected thieves have been banned from entering Irvine until they face trial later this year.

Robert Hiddleston and Shane Denholm are both accused of being caught near a technology firm’s premises in an industrial estate without lawful authority to be there.

The pair, both from Ayr, face a charge of being found in the curtilage of TES-AMM, Crompton Way, Irvine, where “it may reasonably be inferred that they intended to commit theft”.

Hiddleston, 41, and Denholm, 32, pleaded not guilty to the charge at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week and a trial date was set for the end of May.

Both men were bailed with a special condition not to enter the town of Irvine between the hours of 8pm and 6am.
