Primary six pupils from across North Ayrshire had fun at this year’s regional Euroquiz competition.
A total of 27 teams of four from throughout the area competed with St Mary’s Primary in Largs winning – managing to get an impressive 53 correct answers out of 60.
West Kilbride Primary came second while Woodlands Primary of Irvine placed third.
The St Mary’s team will now represent North Ayrshire at the national final in Edinburgh this June with the venue to be confirmed.
Organised by the Scottish European Educational Trust, the quiz consisted of four rounds of questions about Europe covering topics such as languages, history, geography, culture and European affairs.
Host Dennis Hopkins said: “There were really excellent performances by all – we had quite a tough quiz!
“St Mary’s from Largs won with an amazing 53 out of 60.
“That’s really impressive – it’s one of the best scores I’ve seen.
“A good time was had by all! It was great.”
