AN IRVINE man has taken on a top role which will see him take major responsibility at one of the best known hotels in golf.
Callum Nicoll, a former pupil at Greenwood Academy, has been appointed to the role of Head of Golf and Estates at the five-star and 52-acre Fairmont estate near St Andrews.
The role will see Callum become responsible for overseeing all aspects of golf operations, retail, golf sales, greenkeeping and gardening teams - playing an instrumental role in the future success of the department and resort.
Though it is a role that Callum is more than equipped for, given his 23 years experience in the golf business.
He started his career close to home as a PGA Assistant with Turnberry Hotel and from there moved on to join the team with head professional David Fleming at Prestwick Golf Club.
His work then took him to roles in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from 2009, before he returned to the UK in 2018 to work at the London Golf Club and Rockliffe Hall resort.
Back in Scotland once more, Callum has a very exciting role to look forward to.
