Train services between Kilwinning, Largs and Ardrossan have resumed after they were earlier suspended for around two hours.
Services were halted after a person was sadly struck by a train between Ardrossan South Beach and Kilwinning, thought to be in the Saltcoats area.
No trains ran on the route between Kilwinning, Ardrossan and Largs while the emergency services attend.
An air ambulance with critical care paramedics, two hazardous area response units, a fire crew and police were pictured at the scene near Saltcoats library.

Services have now resumed, but the condition of the person struck by the train remains unclear.
British Transport Police have been contacted for comment.
