A MAN has been charged in connection with an alleged licensing offence after police visited a business in Irvine.
Officers came to the premises, which has not been named for legal reasons, on Friday, July 21.
They charged a 59-year-old man in connection with the alleged offence.
A report will now be sent to the procurator fiscal, who will decide whether there should be further prosecution.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Friday, July 21, officers attended business premises in Irvine and a 59-year-old man was charged and is subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with a licensing offence."
North Ayrshire Council has also been approached for comment to ascertain whether its trading standards team is aware, or was involved, in the investigation.
